Specimen Locality: American Aggregates Quarry, Indianapolis, Marion County, Indiana

Mineral Description: A rather large pyrite nodule consisting of hundreds of lustrous pyrite crystals which probably grew around some Devonian (plant) fossils. The Quarry this is mined from started over 100 years ago as a gravel pit and was re-opened in 1972 for crushed stone. Height: 7.5 Width: 6 Depth: 3.5 cm
