Specimen Locality: Ntola Mine, Mindouli, Kimbedi, Pool Department, Democratic Republic of Congo

Mineral Description: A thin plate of rounded dioptase pockets which grew over another mineral (likely calcite) that has since dissolved away. There are thousands of brilliant dioptase crystals making up this piece and it sparkles like crazy when lit up. The white encrusting coating is a bit of calcite with several dioptase crystals on it. There are even a few bright yellow mimetites scattered about as well. Superb condition. Height: 6.5 Width: 6 Depth: 1 cm
