Specimen Locality: Borieva Mine, Madan Ore Field, Rhodope Mountains, Smolyan Oblast, Bulgaria

Mineral Description: Dark matrix completely covered on one side by lustrous, black sphalerite crystals to 5 mm across with spiky, translucent, colorless quartz crystals to 2.5 cm in length. Some of the sphalerites appear to display twinning. Very minor damage on the outer edges where it was removed from surrounding matrix. In excellent condition. Height: 8.8 Width: 5.7 Depth: 3.5 cm
