Specimen Locality: Piedra Parada, Mun. de Tatatila, Veracruz, Mexico

Mineral Description: This specimen consists of sharp, glassy, gemmy, purple-tipped quartz var. amethyst crystals to 3.2 cm in length, some doubly terminated, spread attractively over matrix. A few crystals on the far left side have been broken down near the base but do not detract. The back side has been trimmed with a saw to reduce bulk without risking any damage to the crystals. A very good Veracruz amethyst specimen. Height: 9.4 Width: 8.6 Depth: 3.6 cm
