Specimen Locality: Jurassic (201-405 M.Y.), Volga River, Russia

Mineral Description: A very nice Kosmoceras sp. Ammonite which has been pyritized. There is still original nacre (mother of pearl) layer on one side of the ammonite which shows irridescent colors. The other side has been polished away to expose the interior chambers of the ammonite so you can see the pyrite. Excellent condition. Height: 5.5 Width: 4 Depth: 1 cm
