Mineral Description: A fine specimen composed of a cluster of lustrous, translucent, bladed, rich blue cavansite crystals on nicely contrasting white mordenite-coated matrix. The cavansite cluster measures 2.6 cm across. Bladed cavansite crystals like these are uncommon; instead the crystals tend to form in small rosettes. In excellent condition. Cavansite is a rare calcium vanadium silicate and was only discovered within the last 50 years. By far the best specimens come from the famous zeolite quarries in India.
